About JD Howard Dental

Dr. Joshua Howard

Dr. Joshua Howard was born in Dover and grew up in Rochester. He earned a degree in microbiology from UNH in Durham and a dental degree from the University of Connecticut. After completing a residency in advanced general dentistry from Temple University in Philadelphia, Dr. Howard moved back to New Hampshire in 2003 so he could work with his father Dr. Dale Howard. Dr. Howard purchased his father’s practice in 2004 and moved it to Central Commons. He purchased all of the newest high-tech dental equipment including a CEREC machine that uses CAD/CAM technology to complete same day crowns, veneers and onlays. Dr. Howard strives to complete the highest quality dentistry using the most up-to-date equipment and dental products.

Dr. Christopher Benton

Dr. Christopher Benton was born and raised in Augusta, Georgia but has considered the Seacoast his home since he began attending UNH in Durham in 1998.  He earned a degree in Marine and Freshwater Biology (2002) and stayed to complete a Masters Degree  in 2005 in Zoology.  During the middle of his Master’s degree Dr. Benton decided he wanted to pursue another area of science and found he loved dentistry.  In 2005 he attended the University of Connecticut where he earned his DMD.  After completing his hospital based residency at Hartford Hospital he and his family came back home to the seacoast to join JD Howard Dental.  Dr. Benton’s interests in dentistry are very wide spread but he especially enjoys Oral Surgery and Endodontics.  Dr. Benton’s main focus is making everyone’s experience with dentistry as comfortable and enjoyable as possible.

Jennifer – Dental Hygienist

Jennifer is a 1991 graduate of Westbrook College. She started working with Dr. Dale Howard in 1994. Jennifer earned her local anesthesia certification in 2003. She likes to spend time with her daughter traveling, reading and at the beach.

Nicole – Dental Hygienist

Nicole is a 2005 graduate of NHTI and a 2001 graduate of Spaulding High School in Rochester. She has been involved in dentistry since 2002 starting as a hygiene assistant. She enjoys exercising, playing soccer, NASCAR and spending time with her daughter, Ahlyvia.

Dorothea – Certified Dental Assistant

Dorothea has been a dental assistant for 15 years. She is married to the love of her life Steve for over 20 years and has three daughters and 2 granddaughters. She enjoys hiking, bass fishing and gardening.

Dee – Dental Assistant

Denise, who goes by “Dee”, has been assisting for over 15 years. She enjoys volunteering as a youth leader in her church during her spare time. She and her husband Phil reside in New Durham. Together they have four children.

Lydia – Practice Administrator

Lydia is a graduate of the University of Connecticut and has been working in healthcare management for over 10 years. She loves to cook, travel and spend time with her boys, David and Sam.

Megan – Office Manager

Megan has been with JD Howard Dental since 2003. She likes to spend time with her husband Jon, son Mason and family/friends. She enjoys cooking and loves outdoor activities.

Rebecca – Hygiene / Insurance Coordinator

Rebecca is new to the dental field coming from the world of real estate. Quick to learn, she has picked up on insurance benefits and coordinates the continuing care schedule. She and her husband Greg reside in Dover with their 2 boys, Zachary and Alex.

Kayla – Hygiene Assistant

Kayla attended NHTI from 2006 to 2009 and earned a degree in Health & Sciences in the spring of 2010. She has her Dental Radiology license and has great interest in the dental field. She enjoys kayaking, camping, and spending time with family and friends. She currently resides in Rochester, NH.

Haley – Front Desk/Hyg. Assistant

Haley graduated in 2006 with a Bachelors degree in Business Administration. She got her Dental Radiology License in 2009 and loves working in the dental field. Haley also enjoys spending time with her family and is a HUGE Boston Celtics fan.
