Why I Love Being a Dentist
Dentistry is an incredible profession. Not only do we get to help keep people free from pain, but we help them feel better about themselves and their appearance. Not to mention, it’s amazing to watch our young patients grow and mature. I really enjoy getting to know each person I care for, hearing about their lives and interests, listening to their stories and learning about their lives. These conversations are always fascinating and I never know what I’m going to hear about next. The exchanges, between each patient and me, are one of the reasons why I love coming to work each morning.
I am committed to ensuring that every person who visits the practice has a positive experience while here. My team and I will do everything we can to help a patient feel at ease, and to help them understand that this is a safe environment. Because I practice only painless dentistry techniques, and we use technologies that remove a lot of anxiety related to a dental visit, patients can be assured that their visit will be comfortable.
Education and a Commitment to Continuing Education
My Bachelor of Science in Microbiology is from the University of New Hampshire, and my Doctorate of Dental Medicine was awarded by the University of Connecticut, School of Dental Medicine. I also attended Temple University in Philadelphia, PA, for post-graduate Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD).
I am passionate about continuing education for oral healthcare professionals. It is only by staying at the leading-edge of knowledge and developments in technologies and treatment methodologies that we are able to deliver the best care to our patients. I love computerized dentistry, and am a lecturer for CEREC digital dentistry, including CAD / CAM crowns, onlays, veneers, and implants. By staying up-to-date with the latest technology in digital dentistry, I am able to improve the patient’s experience, with a comfortable visit and excellent restoration, all in a timely manner.
Away from Work
I’m a native of Rochester, NH and now call Dover my home. My family is my highest priority and since I have two energetic young sons, I tend to be kept busy. The newest addition to our family, a miniature poodle named Max, is also full of energy. Luckily, the boys help him work out some of that. I enjoy being in the kitchen with my wife, cooking amazing meals for the family, as well as kayaking and traveling to new and exciting places.

I graduated from the University of Montreal in 2016 and never stopped learning since. Providing optimal dental care is a passion of mine that keeps getting bigger and bigger. Not only do I enjoy all the aspects of dentistry, I have also obtained certification in Invisalign®, an orthodontic technique with clear aligners that can offer my patients a wonderful smile that spreads joy and provides confidence. Additionally, I have a certification in dental implants, which allows me to provide solutions to replace missing teeth that can help patients retrieve their pleasure and enjoyment of eating the foods they love. My goal is to diversify my knowledge and techniques so that I can offer the best and newest treatments to my patients.
With my patience and delicate approach to patient care, I try to make your experience at the dentist as pleasant as possible. At JD Howard Dental, you can feel the warmth and a patient-oriented culture as soon as you walk into the door. Also, there are no limits to what the management is willing to invest in order to provide the best patient care possible. This is mainly why I knew I was going to work with this clinic as soon as I walked in the door and met with the team. We really go out of our way to give the patient the best experience possible, and that has always been a passion of mine.
Before moving to America, I practiced in Canada. I then met the love of my life who I followed to the United States of America. I initially worked in Texas for a year before we decided to move to beautiful New Hampshire for a new beginning. We fell in love with the beauty of the nature and friendly citizens as soon as we crossed the border.
In addition to dentistry, I enjoy spending time with my husband and newborn son. We love outdoor activities, cooking, watching our favorite TV shows, and reading. I also enjoy traveling and discovering the world. Come see me at JD Howard dental and I can tell you more about it with my lovely French accent!
Dan Haley, DMD
I chose dentistry as my profession because I had a passion for working with my hands, combined with a love for science and technology, and the genuine enjoyment of working closely with people to both educate and correct issues of oral health.
I enjoy educating patients and helping them discover the paths to the best possible oral health they can achieve. Seeing patients happy to return to the dentist because they’ve been given the tools to maintain a healthy smile is just as rewarding as the patients who have made a complete transition from problematic oral health to wellness.
Education and Continuing Education
I received a BA in Chemistry from the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, MA. I then earned my Doctorate of Dental Medicine from University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine in 2019. I completed a General Practice Residency at Danbury Hospital in 2020.
I pursue an extensive amount of online and in-person continuing education to stay on top of the leading-edge materials and techniques in order to provide patients with the best possible experience and the highest quality dentistry possible. I find discovering new and better ways to restore and maintain healthy smiles personally tremendously rewarding.

Outside the Office
I grew up just south of Boston, Massachusetts, but have spent my recent years in Connecticut. I always was interested in living in New Hampshire for outdoor activities without having to move too far from my family and friends. Some of my favorite hobbies include motorcycling, DIY projects, camping, and skiing.

Dentistry is a field that I can be a good influence to other people while I learn and become a better person. I hear many interesting stories and life experiences from the people with various background. By listening and communicating to the patients, I can share my education so they can make their best decision. It is very exciting to watch my patients improve their oral health and general health, even life after getting dental care. Also, I learn a lot from my patients' life experience so we grow together and be better everyday.
Dentistry is never boring since every patient can come up with different outcome. That is why I try my best to listen to my patients and share my thoughts so they can make their own best decision. Team work is the key in dentistry.
I am Canadian Korean. I was born in South Korea and moved almost every year until now. I lived in many cities in Korea, many states in the U.S., and I also lived in a few cities in Ontario Canada. This diverse background made me into a person who tries to understand different circumstances of the patients.
I graduated from University of Toronto in Toronto with Honors Bachelor of Science degree in 2015. I studied Biology and Biochemistry. I never stopped my education and decided to enter University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry the same year and completed school in 2019. Even during dental school and after graduation, I explored to learn more about dentistry. I worked at many locations in Michigan and New hampshire and never stopped learning by taking both online and in person continuing education classes. I am certified in invisalign and implant dentistry. Outside of work, I love nature. I enjoy hiking, biking, and I play different kinds of sports including squash. I also love reading and watching TV shows. During winter, I love going to classical music concerts, musicals, and visiting museum.
